Summary
Description Slant-range and "ground-range" forms of 1964 "Quill" satellite radar image of Richmond, VA.JPG |
English:
One of the few still-available images made by the Quill satellite radar covered part of Richmond, VA. To present both ground-plane and slant-plane versions of that image here, these copies have been digitally altered to accomplish the appropriate amounts of "range-stretching" and "range-compressing" by amounts that are indicated by the distortions of what were callout circles. The large difference exists because Quill used an unusually steep depression angle.
